Willard Casterline, 91, of Wolf Point passed away at home Sunday, December 5, 2021 surrounded by his wife and family.
Willard was born to Edgar and Anna (Sievers) Casterline August 21, 1930 where he joined his sister Luella Vine.
Willard met the love of his life Viona Nelson, while roller-skating at old Vida. The romance developed from there, in June of 2022 they would have been married 70 years.
Willard loved being a farmer and rancher, whether it was on the tractor or combine or driving “out west” to check his Polled Hereford cattle he was in the height of his glory.
He loved teaching his children how to ride horse and the rewards of hard work ethics. He was a handyman and could fix anything if he wanted, baling twine, fencing wire and pliers were his tools of choice and later on duct tape and JB weld were added to his supplies.
He was active in the Assembly of God Church and served as a board member and secretary of the Farmers union Lumber yard for 37 years.
He is survived by his “precious” wife Viona, his children Clinton (Gaylene) Casterline, Marlys Dasinger, Wilona (Ed) Plouffe, Carla (Kendall) Martens, Dallas (Pam) Casterline and Ryan (Brianne) Casterline, brother-in-law Elvin Vine, 21 grandchildren, and 39 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Anna, 2 baby brothers, sister Luella Vine, son-in-law Bill Dasinger and several cousins, aunts and uncles.
A viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. with the funeral service immediately following on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel. Interment will be private.
