Tracy Hentges

Tracy Lea Goerss Hentges, age 61, passed away on July 5th, 2025, in the comfort of her home. She was born on March 2nd, 1964, in Springville, New York, to Susan LaRoque and Raymond Goerss.

She was raised in Springville, New York, and spent her teenage years in Frazer, Montana, where she earned her GED. Tracy lived a life of hardship and hard work, but she always made the most of it. She led a busy life, balancing motherhood with various jobs, including work at Town Pump, irrigation, asbestos removal, and seismographing in California. Her favorite job, however, was farming and ranching.

Tracy loved farming, especially being around cattle and horses. They were not just her livelihood, but also her passion. She loved animals as if they were family, even taking in a cat she named Luna. In addition to her love for animals, she had a deep passion for gardening. She spent countless hours tending to her garden, making sure her vegetables were properly watered and thriving.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going on late-night cruises, and doing anything that brought people together.

Tracy stood up for what was right and never let anyone take advantage of her. A headstrong woman, she was deeply committed to caring for her family and friends, always making sure they had what they needed. She was just a phone call away, always on the move, and always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.

Many knew her as a friend, a sister, a mother, and a (great) grandmother. She welcomed many into her life as a family. It didn’t matter who you were or where you came from; if you were around long enough, she saw past boundaries and made you one of her own.

Tracy fought a long battle with cancer. As difficult as it was, she held on as long as she could and remained strong until the very end.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald Hentges; her mother, Susan; her stepfather, Henry LaRoque; her children, LeAndra and spouse Patrick Gustafson, and Brockie Standing and fiancée Elizabeth Grandchamp; her grandchildren, Marissa Follet and significant other Devlyn O’Yates, Alyssa Follet and significant other Dyson Russell, Serae Follet and best friend Esiya Pipe, Jaycee White and significant other Kiera Schindler, La’Rain Nelson, and Brea’Elle Standing; her great-granddaughter, Emaliah Williams-Miller; and her beastie, Marlene and husband Yancey Beston.

She is also survived by her siblings, Niki Smoker, Carman Welch, Roxanne Turntoes, Lori Jones, Carol Holt, Will Goerss, Kelly Myers, and extended sibling Melody Foster, along with their spouses and loved ones. Tracy leaves behind many more relatives, friends, and loved ones, far too many to name.

She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Goerss; her son, Eric Follet; her grandparents, Wilson and Josephine Jackson; her uncle Marty and aunt Elsie; her great-grandson, Jayden White; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tracy was an amazing person who will be missed dearly by many. She didn’t believe in sugarcoating anything, and she wouldn’t want anyone sitting around crying over her. She lived through a lot, faced it head-on, and kept moving. She loved hard, fought hard, and spoke her mind whether you were ready for it or not. Her way wasn’t always easy, but it was hers, and she gave everything she had to the people she loved. So don’t mourn her for too long. Carry her lessons, her strength, and her stubbornness with you. That’s what she’d want.

A wake will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 16 at the Frazer Community Hall. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 17 at the Frazer Community Hall with cremation to follow. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point has been entrusted with the arrangements.
