Tony Moran

December 14, 1963 — May 31, 2022

Tony David Moran, age 58, passed away at Billings Clinic on May 31, 2022 after a short battle with cancer. Surrounded by his family, Tony went peacefully to be with our Lord and Savior.

Tony was born on December 14, 1963 to Agnes and Gary Moran in Wolf Point, MT. Tony graduated from Wolf Point High School in 1982. Tony excelled in football, wrestling and track and field, earning all-conference in football and placing second in state wrestling. During his high school years, thanks to his dad Gary, Tony was known for having the coolest vehicles and cruising “four lanes” with all his buddies. Tony and his dad had a very close bond, always working on cars together and having disagreements when it came to fixing them. After graduation, Tony traveled to Texas to custom combine with Scott Corney and the late Mike Long. Tony also worked at Arlo’s Bar where he met the love of his life Jackie, whim he married on September 3, 1988. During their first 18 years of marriage, Tony and Jackie went on to not only have their own beautiful children but were foster parents to may other children. Many who continue to call them mom and dad.

Throughout the years, Tony was employed at A&S Industries, Looking Eagle Manufacturing and the Tribal JDC Center in Poplar, MT. Tony was the Manager for Lucky Lil’s Casino. He assisted in the establishment of the casinos in Wolf Point, Sidney and Forsyth, MT, where he was recognized as the “Manager of the Year” numerous times. At the time of his death, Tony was employed at Chief Redstone Indian Health Center where he was the Security Officer, but also enjoyed giving a helping hand in the other departments.

Tony loved to spend time with his family, he enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports. He loved spending time outdoors fishing, camping and hunting. He was so proud to pass his love of sports and the outdoors to his sons. Tony was known for his big heart and his “machine gun” laugh. He loved to joke around and was always there to listen and give advice, even when you didn’t ask for it. Tony took it upon himself to hold N/A meetings for several years at the community center, always helping and listening to others in need. One of his favorite hobbies was to fly his drone, which no one was allowed to fly except him. Tony enjoyed sitting on the porch watching and recording storms and posting them to Facebook. He also loved recording silly videos with his grandchildren and his dogs Wheeler and Wiggles.

Tony is preceded in death by his dad Gary B. Moran; grandparents Reuben and Nora Moran, Art and Lol Moran, sister Nora Marie Moran, nephew Austin Fullerton, mother-in law Mary Fullerton, aunt Roberta Archdale and uncle Richard Poitra, numerous uncles and aunts.
