Ryan Jaron Schumacher

April 15, 2006 — December 18, 2025

Wolf Point

Ryan Jaron Schumacher, 19, passed away December 18, 2025.

Ryan graduated from Wolf Point High School in 2024 and attended college at Montana State University Bozeman to pursue Architecture & Civil Engineering. He later decided to instead pursue a career in music and was studying to become a music teacher with plans to attend college in Missoula, MT.

He loved the arts and participated in music classes, drama class, and Speech & Drama competitions in high school. He had such a love for music and participated in band, pep band, and the various choirs in high school, as well as Marching Band at MSU-Bozeman. He spent his free time composing and playing his many instruments filling the entire house with music. He was also a member of Northern Lightning and enjoyed playing the various venues in the community. His many talents allowed him to travel on tours and perform in Chicago and Kansas City. He was also selected to participate in the David Potter and Edwin Furshpan Native American High School Program, which allowed him to travel to Boston and study at Harvard University. He enjoyed these travels and aspired to travel to and eventually live in Ireland.

In earlier years, he spent a lot of time with his Grandpa Michael watching old cartoons and playing board/card games with his Grandma Cathy and Sister Adrienne. He loved UNO and Sorry, as well as family game nights playing Mario Party, rarely losing to anyone no matter what game was played. Most recently, Ryan had worked for Cape Air and when not enjoying music, he would be hanging out or gaming with his friends in his free time.

Ryan joins his Grandma Cathy Peterson, Grandpa Michael Peterson, Uncle Tyler Schumacher, and Rex, his first dog and protector.

Ryan leaves behind his Mother Jhona Peterson, Father Jacob Peterson, Sister Adrienne Peterson, Grandpa Tharin Schumacher, Grandma Connie Schumacher, Uncle James Peterson, Aunt Stevie Peterson, and Cousin Kimber Peterson, as well as his cherished dogs Curly, Brynn, Hardy, and Stitch as well as so many friends and family that it would be impossible to list everyone.

We will miss Ryan’s kindness and caring nature but will especially miss his silliness and thoughtful conversations. He will be remembered for his old-world fashion sense and his impressive collection of newsboy hats.

Internment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Wolf Point with a reception to follow at the First Presbyterian Church.

The family would like to thank everyone for their kind words and support during this extremely unbearable time.
