Rocky Garfield went to be with his Creator on December 8, 2025 unexpectedly at the age of 63 in Terry, MT.
He was born on August 20, 1962 to Ernest Garfield and Nancy Gladys Comeslast.
He met longtime partner Catherine Wilson in April 2009, this is when their friendship blossomed.
He would sit in the backyard and play his cheap flute. After he was playing that cheap flute, he got so good at it. So, we went and bought a very good one and he fell in love with it. We lived in Lansing, Tennessee. This was when we came up with starting Spirit Wind. We did performances at schools, libraries, scout troops, private events, and local pow wows. Rocky would play the flutes and I would play the drums. He just loved the children. We had Boy Scouts come to our house and camp for 4 days. We would show them how to make dream catchers, chokers, many other things and played Native games. The we decided to come back to Montana. He wanted to be with his family, but life was cut short.
He is survived by his sister Winnifred “Winnie” and Darwin Schafer; brothers Randy lambert of Philadelphia, Ernest Comeslast; son Noah Breckenridge and his soulmate Catherine Wilson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his mother Nancy Gladys Comeslast and father Ernest Garfield; sister Vera Jean Comeslast and Glory Overby; brother Kenny Comeslast; grandparents Albert and Margaret Comeslast.
He will be truly missed, but he will be in our hearts and minds forever.
