Raymond Paul Eggebrecht was born in Vida, MT on September 9, 1925 to Frank and Caroline (Fiesel) Eggebrecht. He died at Faith Lutheran Home in Wolf Point, MT on August 5, 2013.
He was baptized on November 25, 1925 at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Circle, MT. He grew up on the family farm east of Vida, where he attended country school. He graduated from Wolf Point High School in 1943. He joined the Army on July 14, 1944 and served in the Asian Pacific Theatre as a Motor Gunner and was discharged on August 9, 1946. He received his private pilot license in December of 1946.
He attended Billings Business College and spent time in Arizona before returning to the farm in Vida. His greatest joy was sowing his fields and reaping a bountiful harvest.
He married Helen Simenson on November 24, 1978. She preceded him in death on March 8, 2013. They spent 34 wonderful years together. Also preceding him in death were his sisters, Ann and Margaret and his brothers, Harold and Ralph.
He is survived by his brother, Gene; children, Marlene Jager, Janet Simenson, Tom Simenson, and Karen Solheim; several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Viewing will take place Thursday, August 8 at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Friday, August 9 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wolf Point. Interment will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery.
