Marjie Stennes

Marjie M. Stennes died September 14, 2014 in Wolf Point, Montana.

She was born on January 13, 1923, the daughter of William J. and Rose Larsen Mitchell. She grew up on a farm northwest of Bainville and graduated from Bainville High School in 1940.  She worked from January 1942 to May 1943 in Washington D.C. during World War II.

Upon returning to Wolf Point, she worked in the clerk and recorder’s office for many years. She married Edward R. Stennes on January 13, 1946.  Edward died in July 1950.  Marjie began work at Northeast Montana PCA in 1962, retiring July 31, 1986.

Surviving Marjie are three daughters: Linda (Ralph) Moncrief of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Marcy Stennes of Burke, Virginia; and Patricia Stennes of Wolf Point, Montana.

Marjie is survived by granddaughters Heidi Guza of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Kayte (Chris) Howell of Great Falls, Montana; and Briarly (Will) Mayeda of Barstow, California as well as great grandsons Jacob and Austin Guza of Idaho Falls, Jackson Howell of Great Falls, and Keegan and Mason Mayeda of Barstow, CA.

Marjie was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Beverly Mitchell.

Cremation has taken place and the family is planning private services. Condolences for the family may be left at www.claytonstevensonchapel.com . Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point assisted the family with arrangements.
