Joel Rae Ferguson, Tasunka Hin Hota Win (Roan Grey Horse Woman) 55 Of Poplar Mt went to be with her Mom and Dad on August 15th 2022 at the Poplar Hospital.
Joel Was Born at At Ft Hood,Louisiana on March 15th 1967 to Joseph and Arlene Ferguson. Joel grew up in Poplar and was a graduate of Poplar High School. She graduated from University of Mary Bismarck and Fort Peck Community College. She held many jobs including fort peck housing, fort peck tribes payroll, tribal express, Tandes and A&S here at Fort Peck. She also moved to Billings and worked for the Census Bureau, salvation army, Transbas and many more that she enjoyed. She also helped open the cold weather shelter this past winter and was happy that she could help her people.
Joel loved spending time with her Grandchildren her world evolved around them and making sure that they were taken care of before herself. She spent her last months with her son who was her whole world and loved with all her heart. She spent her time beading and making dancing outfits for her granddaughters. She loved to bead and sew and always gave her things she got done away hardly ever keeping or making anything for herself. She was always generous and willing to help wherever she could. If she didn’t know how to put something together, she would call her little sister nan and they would get it done. Joel loved her Dakota ways and was always ready to go to sweat and was a big supporter of the Three Buffalo Sundance and all her nephews. Joel Rae would speak her mind and didn’t care what anyone thought. She had a loving and caring heart and was always on Facebook messaging all of her friends and family to check on them. She was proud to come from the Bad Temper Bear family.
Joel Rae met John House of Crow Mt and enjoyed working with the cattle, going to Hand Game Tournaments and supporting him and the Black Lodge Tigers and her adopted family she gained in crow whom she loved and appreciated.
Joel Is survived by her pride and joys MyRee Lynn, Liam Chance, Tiar’e Jaye and her tiny tiny babe Sienna Skye, Makenna, Makennan, Suta Mani,Mali Iskitini, Carly and Noah. And many more that she loved with her whole heart.
Children Leigh Spotted Bird “Skuya” of Brockton and Grant Ferguson “Sonny” of Poplar. Her Adopted children whom she loved Jeffery Flynn, Ashley Weston, Brennon Hajek, Ralph Renz, Robert Ferguson and Miccah Dust. She also leaves behind all of her nieces and nephews who she considered own and loved and supported always.

Adopted Parents who she held near to her heart Cedric and Sissy Good House, Doris and the late Leland Spotted Bird, Cindy and the late Enright Bighorn, Amos Cloud Sr and Rusty Denny. And her lifelong friend who she confided in Myron Spotted Bird.

She is Preceded in death by her Parents Joseph and Arlene Ferguson Sisters Lydia Ferguson and Loretta Kidder. Grandparents Cynthia Johnson and Nellie and Bill Ferguson Nephews Roderick Renz Speed and Anthony Mazawasicuna.
Her Aunts Cheryl, Renee and Paula. Uncles Manny Melbourne, Lionel Johnson, Mike Thompson and George Ferguson. Her Adopted Moms Phyllis Grey Bear, Karen First and Georgia Red Eagle.
Cousins whom she called her brothers and sisters Marcus and Shelly Johnson, Jimmy Smith, Alex Stearns, Heidi Johnson, Genine, George, Geoff, JR Red Eagle, Sarah Three Stars and Sherry Flagen.
She also leaves behind her adopted family from Crow Agency.
Mom, we love you so much. Just know that the babies will be taken care and you don’t have to worry. We will miss you.
