Joan Ann Brown-Iron Shield (Nowoo3i) (Namosehehe) was born to Anthony Brown and Eva Medicinebull on January 19, 1962. Joan’s birthdate was the same day as our father's. Joan was born in Thermopolis, WY.
Because Joan was left-handed is the reason for her N. Arapaho/N. Cheyenne name (“on the Left” or “Left-handed woman”), her nickname was given to her by our parents of “Lefty”.
Joan was called home by our Creator/Maheo from health issues developed late in her life. We will miss her as she makes her journey to our Ancestors at the “Next Camp”.
Joan (Noww3i/Namosehehe), “Lefty,” is on her way to the next camp, and they will welcome her with open arms. Joan is preceded in death by her father, Anthony Brown; her mother, Eva Medicinebull–Brown-Bear Chum; her daughter, Johanna Rose Young; her oldest Sister, Angela Brown-Blackwolf; and her only Brother, Patrick Joseph Brown.
