James Francis Crowe was born on February 24, 1984 to Dolly Crowe in Williston, ND. In his childhood days he was raised by his “Kidi” great grandma Ruby RedBoy and his grandma Bette Iron Ring in Brockton, MT.
As a boy he enjoyed being in Riverside playing with his cousin/brother Eddy O. Jr., Dustin and Darren RedBoy. They were wild and crazy boys; always with some kind of shenanigan up their sleeves!
As an adult he moved to Spokane, WA and attended Spokane Community College in July 2009. In February 2010 he moved to Alabama where he made his home for sixteen years until recently returning to his homeland in Montana.
James was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents Theodore Crowe and Inez Thompson; maternal great-grandparents Archie Sr., and Ruby Cloud RedBoy; grandparents Nelson and Faye Crowe, Bette and Cyril Iron Ring; grandpas Archie Jr. and Dennis RedBoy; uncle Eddy Sr. and auntie Connie Smith; cousin/brothers Eddy Jr. and Dustin Sr. Smith.
James is survived by mother Dolly Crowe; brother Jordan and Michael Crowe, Marcus Red Thunder, Jory DeMarrias, Donovan Jr., and Darren RedBoy and Allery Black Dog; auntie Delores Crowe; sister Tamara and Brandon Jefferson and family; brother Doug Todd and family; aunts Darlyn Grainger and family, Denise Smith and Susie, Brenda Bauer and family, Bernadette Wind, Anita Falson and Darin Falson; grandpa Donovan RedBoy Sr., and grandma Audrey Ghost Dog.
James is also survived by good friends Herman Pruitt, Sr. and Carolyn Sasser, Herman Pruitt, Jr., Martha Riley, all from Alabama. Louis and Silas Montclair, both from Poplar, MT.
James comes from a very large extended family that includes Little Heads, Bighorns, Lemays, Youpees from Brockton, Youngs in Poplar, BlackDog in Brockton and his cousin Mandy Granbois and family.
If I have failed to mention anyone, please know our family is large and it was not intentional.
Thank you to all who reached out to the family with words of comfort and prayers, food and just being present.
