Gregory Yellow Hawk

Gregory Lorne YellowHawk, age 67, made his journey home on June 16th, 2026. He was born on August 11th, 1958 to Alta Ruth Thundering Bear and Elmer YellowHawk, Sr.

As a young boy he lived with his grandpa Jack YellowHawk and then later lived with his grandma Adele Ironleggins.

On September 1st he was blessed with his son Robert Lee YellowHawk, he then raised and adopted many children throughout his life loving them all like his own. He enjoyed doing puzzles, and going to powwows, he always wanted to go on a long country ride and jam out to his old school music. He loved his Meatloaf and The Eagles. He was married to the love of his life Georgia “Cissy” for 40 years. Growing up he went to boarding school and traveled throughout many states.

Lorne leaves behind a huge family both from here, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Canada. His children Robert, LaToya, Butterfly, Christopher, Adele, Gabriel and his Babygirl Tanisha and T-Bear. He had many grandkids and greats raising Michael, Kiaree and Laura, and two brothers.

He joins his parents Alta and Elmer and his grandparents on both sides, his brother Jolly and his little sister Adele. He mourned one year for his grandbaby Ranae Jade, leaving with her on her one year passing. He lived a great life leaving an impact on everyone he met. You will be missed Papa and never forgotten, we love you forever.

A private family wake will be held on Sunday, June 21st with funeral services to follow on Monday, June 22nd at 11am at the Poplar Cultural Center. Interment will follow at Poplar City Cemetery.
