Gregory Bad Hawk

June 9, 1965 — December 28, 2020

Remembering Gregory Frances Bad Hawk, “Cheshkámaza Winchà” (Policeman), son, brother, dad, grandson, cousin and friend Greg was born June 9, 1965 in Wolf Point, MT to Delores Fourstar-McConnel and Jacob BadHawk

Greg was always so friendly and greeted everyone with the biggest smile.

He was helpful and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone. Greg was so courteous, he always put others before himself. He was very respectful to his elders and followed the ways of his culture and traditions. Growing up, Greg endured and throughly enjoyed being the company of his grand parents, Buster and Mabel  Fourstar, Leslie and Freda Fourstar, it was from them he learned and grew to respect his culture and one he instilled in his children. Nothing rang more true for him than being a father, he loved all his children wholeheartedly and was proud of the people they grew up to be. He loved the outdoors, he was hunting or fishing any chance he got. Greg attended high school at Chemawa  Indian School in Salem Oregon, where he excelled in Cross Country and helped lead the team to championship. It was one of many proud times in his life. After Greg graduated high school he went onto college (1986) at Haskell Indian College. Greg returned and finished college in 1991 at United Tribes Technical College where he graduated with an AAS degree in Political Science. Shortly after in 1993 Greg began his career in Law Enforcement with the Bureau of Indian Affairs Fort Belknap Agency Harlem, Montana. Greg was recognized for his outstanding work over the years and was presented the opportunity to work for the Roosevelt County Sheriffs Department in Wolf Point Montana,  as Deputy Sheriff.  He also served for Fort Peck Tribes police department and Poplar City police department.  Greg loved being a police officer, he stood by the Police Officers creed, that is to “serve, safeguard, protect, maintain peace and to respect the constitution of the United States”. Greg will be missed by many, he entered the spirit world December 28, 2020

Gregory is survived by his children Gregory (Angela), Joseph (DeAnna), Joshua, Roberta (Ike), Daniel, Anessa (Bailey), Xanthia (Gerald), Duane and Jasmine. God daughter Ashley Showers.

His 17 Grand children , his sister Connie Kawasaki (Casey), Brothers Darren Bad Hawk, Michael Bad Hawk (Trish), Eve BadHawk, Sidney and Skeeter Cambell. Inez Herrera, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his granddaughter Alice Ann Bad Hawk, parents Jacob Bad Hawk, Delores Fourstar,  his brother Wayne Bad Hawk, paternal grandparents Jake BH, Katie Guzmam  maternal grandparents Leslie Fourstar Sr., Freda Redstone Fourstar

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 1, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Community Hall in Wolf Point.
