Edwin J. Reddoor

October 10, 1935 — May 22, 2019

Edwin John Reddoor, Jr. was born on October 10 th , 1935, in Poplar, MT to Edwin Reddoor Sr. and Josephine Lambert Reddoor.  EJ was an enrolled member of the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes.  He was respectfully known as “Hand”, which fit him perfectly.  EJ tackled everything in the most logical way.  He was known in the communities as the best mechanic, the best machine operator, the best Indian oil field worker, and the best friend and family man.  A quiet man, he loved old western movies, his newspaper, and Budweiser.  EJ attended school in Poplar, MT and was known as a great football lineman.  He also attended Northern State College in Havre, MT, where he studied what he did best, heavy-duty diesel mechanics.

EJ married Mavis Palmer and a boat load of boys were born to this union.  Years later he married Adelle “Mother” Uherka and true to his special nature, with this union came an instant family of six children, all under the age of 10 years.  Two additional children were born of this union.  He supported, raised, and loved all of his children.  With this many children, he was called Grandpa by many.  In the 50 plus years he was our dad, I never heard him raise his voice, with the exception of one time when his “baby girl” Delrae was hurt in a backyard game, she had him wrapped around her fingers.  His favorite holiday was Christmas Eve where we would all gather at his house for homemade egg noodles and Crown Royal.  We will all miss his quiet reserve, snarky sense of humor, and his tiny bit of grumpiness that we all blew off.

EJ was preceded in death by his mother Josephine and father Edwin, his wife Adelle Reddoor, brothers Courtney and Marlin Reddoor, sisters Lois Reddies and Marlene and Artis Reddoor, daughter Ann Catherine McClammy, sons “Big John” and Danny Lodmell.

EJ is survived by his sisters Donna Murray and Edna Granbois, sons Allan (Wanda), Steve (Maryanne), and Gary (Lisa)  Lodmell, Willis, Pat, and Robert McClammy, Reese (Leilani) Reddoor, and daughters Faith (Dun) O’Connor, Haven (Frank) Gourneau, and Delrae Reddoor.  Also surviving EJ are his special nieces Nadine Buckles and Wendy Reddies, special nephew and niece Ernie and Yvonne Flynn, granddaughters Andrea Simons and Reese Belton and great-granddaughters CanteSkuya and Adelle Brown.  I would run out of space listing everyone who loved EJ, there are many who loved him and he loved many.
