Edith Alberta Bigleggins, “Little Door Woman”, age 81 passed away on February 2, 2023 in Frazer.
Edith was born December 24, 1941 to Robert Welch and Beatrice Brown. She met Garrett Joseph Bigleggins Sr. and they were married in July of 1960.
She lived on the west end of Frazer but also lived in California for 10 years, where she did many things like picking strawberries. She later moved back to Frazer where she resided until her passing. She worked as a Senior Citizen cook, at Spotted Bull as a AA Counselor, and worked at the Glasgow Airforce Base as a sewer. Her favorite things to do were playing bingo, painting her nails, and just spending time with her grandchildren. She lived a long happy life. If we forgot to mentions or say anything we are so sorry.
She is survived by her children, Sarah Johnston Keiser, of Frazer, Montana, Garrett Big Leggins (Wanda Ackerman) of Frazer, Montana, Lori Big Leggins, of Billings, Montana, Robert (Rosie) Big Leggins, of Billings, Tanya Big Leggins, of Frazer, and Vickie Big Leggins, of Wolf Point; she took care of Raymond (Cari Jo) Johnston, of Frazer, Saya (Tony) Gomez of Billings, Alexus (Demili) Big Leggins, Edna Jones, Ashaya (Dre) Big Leggins. Her brothers and sisters, Robert (Gloria) Welch, Clara Burshia, Carol Welch, Louise Strickland, Roxanne Welch and the rest of the Welch Family. She was excited to be the 5 th generation from Hope Ann Johnston from West Virginia. She had many more grandkids, great-grandkids, and great-great-grandkids, nieces, nephews, and cousins (way too many to mention). She is also survived by her bingo family and adopted children, BJ Johnson and Tara Ricker Douglas.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Garrett Joseph Big Leggins, Sr.; her parents, Beatrice and Robert Welch; her children LynWoody Big Leggins, John Big Leggins, Shanon Big Leggins, and Juanita Big Leggins; her sister, Rosie Hardin (Welch); her brothers, Denise Welch, and James Welch.
A wake will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, February 9 at the Wolf Point Community Hall. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, February 10 at the Wolf Point Community Hall. Interment will follow at the St. Josephs Cemetery in Frazer. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point has been entrusted with the arrangements.
