Edison Lee Comes Last, 35, passed away in Billings, Montana on August 20, 2025. He was born in Poplar, Montana to LeRoy Comes Last and Sabrina Standing Elk-Comes Last.
Edison’s Indian name was Čhetá (Hawk). He worked for TERO. He worked on the water tower by the Tribal office and also for Sidney Construction. He worked for Bobby and Andy Trottier, Broustabout for 7 years. Bobby stated Edison was an incredible hard worker, that was his nature. He was a damn good hand.
Edison enjoyed seeing family and friends happy, he enjoyed telling jokes. He would say, “ you don’t have a life, if you don’t have laughter in it”.
He enjoyed helping his dad around the ranch, riding and training horses, going to and helping out with rodeos, powwows and sweats. He enjoyed hunting with his dad, brothers, Taylor and Lucas, nephews, and friends. His favorite past time was listening to country music and spending time with his parents, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
He is survived by his parents, LeRoy Comes Last and Sabrina Standing Elk Comes Last; son, Ethan Grey Bear (mother, Deanna Grey Bear); siblings, Taylor Wade (Bellejay) Comes Last, Lucas Comes Last; daughters, LeeAmiya, Destinee, Lilley Comes Last, Malissa (son, Julian), Amber Comes Last and children, Kristi and children; cousins, Erick Williams, Marcel and Kyle Four Bear, Alex and Jesse Bull Calf, Charles, JayCe, Deyo Four Bear, Anthony Standing Elk, Seidel (Ziggy) Pine. Edison has too many nieces and nephews to name. He had an unique and lasting bond with each and every one of them. He is also survived by his aunts, Rena Williams of Poplar, Anna Four Bear, Henrietta Medicine Elk, Floy Standing; uncles, Dale Four Bear, Cornell Four Bear, Seidel Standing Elk, Conrad Standing Elk, Lyndon Standing Elk.
Edison is preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Daniel and Rena Comes Last and George and Mary Standing Elk; his favorite aunties, “Aunti Vi” Violet Comes Last, and Noreen Four Bear.
A wake will be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 28 at the Poplar Cultural Center. A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 29 at the Poplar Cultural Center. Interment will follow at the Comes Last Family Cemetery in Poplar. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point has been entrusted with the arrangements.
