Dennis was born on November 20, 1956 to Florence “Wospi” Youngman and Rudolph “Wixie” Young. As a baby, Dennis was adopted and raised by Archie Sr. and Ruby Cloud-Red Boy, at the Riverside family home.
Dennis attended school in Brockton, graduating in 1975. Dad worked all his life doing a variety of jobs. He was a firefighter, seismographer, elementary basketball coach, cook, CNA and electrician. He was currently employed with Doc’s electric. In 2003, dad also took part in the Space Shuttle Columbia Disaster Recovery Team in Texas.
On December 28, 2011, he married Jennifer “Missy” Bear Cub in Poplar, MT.
Dennis L. Red Boy, Sr., age 55, of Poplar, MT passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at his residence in Poplar. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cruising the back roads, listening to music, and visiting his family and friends.
Dad is survived by his wife, Jennifer “Missy” Red Boy of Poplar; biological mother, Florence “Wospi” Youngman of Poplar; brothers and sisters, Donovan Red Boy, Sr., Wayne Little Crow, Richard Dubois, Eric (Dani) Red Bull, Bette (Cyril) Iron Ring, Della Brown and Connie Young all of Poplar; children, Charles (Kathy) Red Boy, Darris Red Eagle, Dennis Jr., Saxon, and Mercedes all of Poplar; and grandchildren, Alyssa, Michelle, Ryan, and Haidyn Red Boy, Raylando and DaShaun Red Eagle.
He is preceded in death by his biological father, Rudolph “Wixie” Young; adoptive parents, Archie Sr. and Ruby Red Boy; brother, Archie Red Boy Jr.; and TJ Bauer, Brian Bauer, and John Lodmell, whom he also took as brothers.
Visitation will be held from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday, March 18 at the Poplar Cultural Center in Poplar. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, March 19 also at the Poplar Cultural Center in Poplar. Interment will follow at the Red Boy Family Cemetery in Riverside, MT.
