Deborah "Debi" Jensen

August 17, 1952 — November 24, 2025

Wolf Point

Deborah Ann Jensen passed away on November 24, 2025 in Great Falls, MT from surgical complications.

Debi was born on August 17, 1952 to Albert and Rowene Dahl and grew up on the family farm south of Wolf Point. Debi was the middle child.

Debi went to elementary school in the country just down the road from the farm. Where her and Laurie Neubauer became the best of friends.

Debi then continued her education in Wolf Point High School where she developed a few more very close friends Kali Lien, Donna Archdale and Sarah Figueroa, they continued to raise cane over the next several years. While Debi was still in high school, she met and dated Raymond Hansen. Debi graduated from high school in May of 1970. After graduation Debi went on to Minot North Dakota to the Trinity school of nursing and graduated on June 8, 1973. On August 4, 1973 Debi married Raymond and had 2 children, Wade and Katie Rae. Debi was widowed December 1976. She later remarried Gerald Jensen in September 2, 1978. They had a son Rex and Debi gained 3 step-daughters, Kara, Mindy and Krystee. Debi was widowed in April 1988.

Debi spent many, many years in the nursing field. She was very caring, compassionate and made the job fun. She loved teaching new nurses and a few old ones as well. Debi was nursing when medication came in glass bottles and they did straight alcohol drips for heart patients. Things that are completely unheard of these days. She was also only allowed to wear a white uniform. She was very excited when they started wearing colors and even printed uniforms. She of course made a lot of her own.

Debi was a nurse for more than 40 years. She started working at Trinity Hospital right out of school, then onto Faith Lutheran Home and Listerud’s Clinic. Where she nursed for over 10 years along side Dr. Mark Listerud’s Dr. Mark Zilkoski, Kathy Green and Barb Antonson. While she was nursing, she took classes and gained an Associate of Science in Accounting from the college of Great Falls. She never did pursue accounting. She did however pack up and moved to Yankton, South Dakota where she was accepted into the Anesthesia program to become an Anesthesiologist. Once she arrived the college then notified her, they cancelled the program. She was returning home when she stopped off in Rapid City to visit family, she was convinced to stay and started working at Rapid City Regional hospital as well as Sturgis Hospital. Heer and her son Rex lived there a couple years in the Blackhawk subdivision. She then decided to return to Wolf Point.

Debi bought the Gingerbread house as well as the Imagination Station and sold homemade crafts, paintings and where she was able to get creative and decorate for weddings and parties. Debi later sold the business and started travel nursing.

She worked all over the US, some of her destinations were Las Vegas, Marshfield, WI, Laramie, WY, Idaho Falls, ID but her favorite times were in Alaska. She traveled the state working in Anchorage, Cordova, Juneau and Seward. She even adopted a cat for her granddaughter Samantha to have when Katie came to Alaska to nurse with her mom. Alaksa is where Debi developed a love for deep sea fishing. She was able to take Katie and grandson Trenton out to catch some Halibut and Rockfish. It was all fun and games until someone caught and reeled in a shark.

Debi bought her slice of heaven when she retired from nursing and lived at her cabin at Rock Creek. Her cabin was her happy place. She worked at the marina for several years where she gained her lake family, Monte, Dave and 3rd along with her close neighbor Jane and Sherri. She had the opportunity to work a summer with her grandson Kasey.

Debi was well known for not only her wonderful nursing skills but her imagination and sewing ability. She could sew anything all you needed was a picture. She made several wedding dresses with hand beaded lace. She made prom dresses by the dozens. And we can’t forget about her quilts. She was able to teach her daughter and granddaughter how to sew and quilt.

In her spare time, she would follow the grandkids around to their sporting events. Whether it was football, hockey or rodeo. She was there cheering them on.

Debi is preceded in death by her husbands, Raymond Hansen and Gerald Jensen; her parents Albert and Rowene Dahl and her grandson James.

Debi is survived by her sons Wade Hansen and Rex Jensen; daughter Katie (Vince) MacDonald, Kara (Shannon) Harrison, Mindy (Eric) May and Krystee George; grandchildren Ashlee (Zach) Lunder, Trenton (Olivia) Wemmer, Ky’Anna (Nate) Carlson, Brayden, Bailey and Kolten Hansen, Samantha, Kasey and Jesse Reed, Caun and Vaun (Alex) Jensen and Tanner MacDonald; great grandchildren Molly, Brody and Ivy Lunder, Allister and Arkyn Carlson.

Mom, you are no longer suffering. We got this here on earth. Go enjoy everyone in heaven and gives James a hug and kiss from me.

A celebration of Debi will be held later in July at the Rock Creek Marina.
