David E. Brownlee was born on Feb. 9, 1946. He was the youngest child of Helen Louise (Styre) and James “Jim” Brownlee. He passed away on Dec. 10, 2025-just two months before his 80th birthday.
Attending school in Wolf Point, David earned awards for trampoline and swim teams. From 1967-1970 David served his country in Vietnam, coming home with several medals. He was always proud of the time spent in the Army and being a veteran.
Returning to Wolf Point, David worked many jobs, including at Dad’s Bar, where he continued to “help out” until health problems forced him to stop. He started his career with the Montana Department of Transportation in 1985 and remained there until he retired 25 years later.
In 1982 David married Valerie Marquardt but he met the real love of his life in 1983 when his only child, Jordanne, was born. He was a proud and loving Dad and always made sure she had everything she needed (or wanted!)
David typically enjoyed time spent with friends and family, especially playing pool with “the boys” and golfing with his brother. He loved to visit and was never a stranger for long, no matter where his travels took him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Suzi Kirkhart; niece Siobhan Brownlee, and brother-in-law Bud Iwen.
He is survived by his ex-wife and their daughter, Jordanne of Scobey; sister Mary Helen Iwen of Helena and brother JT (Billie) Brownlee of Wolf Point. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and “littles” and by countless friends.
