Dallas Four Star

April 23, 1939 — October 12, 2016

Dallas Duane Four Star ”Wichaxbi Dobes”, of Wolf Point, MT, a Hudešana (Red Bottom) elder, died October 12, 2016 at the age of 77, at the Faith Lutheran Home.

Dallas was the 5th child born to Andrew and Gae (Camp) Four Star Sr. on April 23, 1939 in Wiota, Valley County, MT.

Dallas attended school and lived in Frazer. He enjoyed hanging out with his brother-in-law, Wallace Runs Through Sr., helping him bale hay and with other odd jobs; he enjoyed hunting & trapping with Wallace & Bill Sharp Sr.

Dallas met & married Rose Mary Hotomani, they later divorced, and from this union one son was born, Corwin Four Star Sr.

In his younger days, Dallas was an Old Style Grass dancer. He danced with Bill Sharp and others. Dallas was taught by his Dad how to sing and his mother taught him how to make medicine to help those who were sick. Throughout his life Dallas sang at powwows, traditional hand games and ceremonies. He was called upon to be a spiritual advisor for the Red Bottom Celebration and he also knew the Hudešana son and Flag son and sang them at their celebration. He taught his son and many others how to sing. Dallas was a pipe carrier, he was called upon to do naming ceremonies, four day feed ceremonies, and to pray for the people in the United States and Canada.

Dallas is survived by his sisters, Shirlene Gleed and Arlene Jackson of Wolf Point; brother, Andrew Four Star Jr. of Frazer; grandchildren, Corwin Jr., Austin, Bailyn, Darnelle, Elise, Faith, and Galen all of Wolf Point; numerous nieces and nephews from Fort Peck, Fort Belknap, and Browning Reservations.

Dallas is preceded in death by his parents; son, Corwin Four Star Sr.; brothers, Andrew Four Star Jr. (infant), Melvin Four Star and Clair Four Star Sr.; adopted brother, Bill Sharp; sisters, Norma Plante, Ruby Runs Through, Ernestine Jackson, Irene Runs Through, Darlene Gray, and adopted sister, Bertha Sharp.

The family of Dallas Four Star wishes to extend the THANKS to the Staff at the Faith Lutheran Home for their loving, exceptional care of our brother, grandpa, uncle, and cousin. Pinamiya!
