Christopher Michael Granbois (Bighorn) was born on March 17th, 1972 in Wolf Point, MT to Erna Granbois and Dean Bighorn. Chris lived in Poplar until 1976 when he moved to Miles City, MT with his mother, and he lived there until 1978. He attended Kindergarten in Miles City. He moved back and lived in Poplar until 1992. He attended Elementary school through high school in Poplar. He graduated from Poplar high school in 1991. He moved to Buffalo, NY in 1992. While In Buffalo he worked at the Navel Park and attended the Ford Asset Program in Niagara Falls to become a Ford Master Mechanic. He graduated from this program in 1995.
He worked as a Master Mechanic at the Rainbow Ford Dealership for several years. During this time, he met and married Tin Krilokowski and his first daughter, Heather, was born there. He moved to Wyoming in 1997 where he worked for Ford Dealerships in Powell and Casper. He made his home in Casper with his wife and three children until 2004, at which time he got a divorce. When he returned to Montana, He worked at Ford Dealerships in Sidney, MT, and Williston, ND. Upon returning to Poplar where he became an independent mechanic and established his own business there.
Chris is survived by his two daughters, Heather and Christina, and son Christopher Jr, all of Buffalo, NV. His mother Erna, sister Jamie, two nieces Julianna and Gabrielle, two nephews Sabastian and Vincent, all of Poplar. His grandmother, Edna Strauser, Uncle Ernest, cousins Beau, Rick, Alicia, and Ernest Ill. His dad Dean Bighorn, a half brother Hunter and two half sisters Mary and lmani. He is survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins too numerous to name. He is preceded in death by many friends and family.
Chris loved his work as a Master mechanic, his passion was repairing and restoring vehicles and equipment to working order. He always said that his work was his entertainment because he loved doing it so much. He would work hours and hours on a vehicle until he had it running to his standard of excellence.
CHRIS, YOU WILL BE AGONIZINGLY MISSED, BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN. LOVE YOU FOREVER.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 8th at 1:00 p.m. at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Chelsea Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to Wolf Point Pound Puppies.
