Chennaniah "C.T." Titus Smith

April 12, 1992 — January 23, 2026

Chennaniah Titus (C.T.) Smith, aka Kiya Beanz, was born on April 12, 1992 in Poplar, MT to Vermae Smith and the late Joseph (Joe) Boyd. His body was only loaned to us for a little while because a little spirit needed him more. On January 7th Sami and Kiya had a positive pregnancy test only to lose the baby days later; so the creator called him home on January 23, 2026 in Billings, MT.

Kiya received his elementary education in Poplar and Culbertson, MT. He later moved to Tucson, AZ for most of his high school years moving back to Poplar his senior year. Where he played varsity basketball with his brother G, both tall and skinny the family called them the twin towers. He graduated in 2012. During this time, he was also a waiter at Buckhorn. Kiya then enrolled at FPCC and played for the Buffalo Chasers while working full time at Hi-Line Sports. His mom was so proud. He made the President’s list and she took his certificate. Kiya was an avid pool and darts player. Mastering both and can hang in there with the best of them. His dad was also an avid dart player and Kya would often say “If my dad was here, think of how good our team would be! We’d never lose!” When he was at home, he loved watching movies and can quote most movies, but what he loved best was visiting with family. We’re going to miss staying up until 3 – 4 a.m. with him, just talking about life. Kiya was a mama’s boy and proud of it. Never a dull moment with him. On February 14, 2016 he married Audrea Scott. He gained 4 step kids who he still had a good relationship with and still talked to. Audrea and Kiya later divorced but remained friends. In 2020 he met Samantha Drum. They had more good times than bad, but that’s what made them perfect together. He couldn’t be alone, he’d say “mom, I’m gonna go pick up Sam”.

On December 7, 2023 they became parents to a son, Kiya Kasimir Smith in Billings, MT. He was so proud of his son often saying “it’s his world, we’re just all squirrels tryna get a nut!” Don’t worry son, you know mom’s got baby Kiya here and the best guardian angel there is, you!

On his maternal side, Kiya is survived by his mom, Vermae; son, Kiya Kasimir Smith; babe, Samantha Drum; brothers, Chance (Deah) Boyd, and Joseph Boyd; sister, Brianna Smith, all of the family home; also his brothers Maschil Boyd and Grant Ferguson; uncles, Thomas Smith, Duane Smith Jr., J.D. Ferguson, Amos Cloud Jr., and Joseph (Brittany) Cloud; aunts, Michelle Melbourne, Monica (Cory) Melbourne, Colleen (Sinbad) Ferguson, Stephanie Cloud; two special aunts, Nina Wetsit and Sandra (Collins) Ownspipe.

Paternal side uncles, Wayne (Mia) Boyd Jr., Samson (Ann) Boyd; aunts, Valerie, Machelle and Jodie Boyd, Sharon (Ash) Kidman, Debra Boyd and Waynette Boyd-Weinberger; 3 special grandmothers, Jaimie Youpee, Kate Youpee, and Millie Runsthrough; and many cousins and extended family members on both sides.

He is preceded in death by his dad, Joseph O. Boyd; grandparents, Duane T. Smith Sr., Renee Dupree, Wayne and Dolly Boyd; uncle, James D. Smith; and many other relatives too many to mention.
